There are 75 km of marked ski runs in Bansko with 14 lifts with the longest ski run of 4.8 km. Unque 16 km ski run with a vertical drop 1600 m suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, covered by snow cannons and lighted, connects the highest ski run with the town. Total of 260 snow cannons secure the good snow cover on 90% of the ski slopes. The town itself attracts visitors all year round with its 120 cultural monuments, museums, nightlife and restaurants. The skiing season along the Pirin slopes starts in the middle of December and ends in April, although this is by no means a winter only resort; in the summer Bansko offers excellent hiking, fishing, horse riding and many other warm weather mountain pursuits. This is very much an all year round resort, which all the family can enjoy.
