Bansko is the newest ski resort located at 925 m above sea level between Pirin, Rila and the Rhodopes mountains, nestled in the shadow of ice-caped Mt Vihren, the highest peak in Pirin. It has so much to offer, for all ages, and all walks of life, throughout the year.
Bansko provides a superb combination of the virgin mountain nature and the atmosphere of the ancient Bulgarian small town. An enchanting historical spot, the town itself attracts visitors by its 120 cultural monuments, its museums and the permanent ethnographic exhibitions. To walk through the ancient cobbled streets you get the feel of the old world charm, with a town filled with history. Unque 16 km ski run with a vertical drop 1600 m suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, covered by snow cannons and lighted, connects the highest ski run with the town. Total of 260 snow cannons secure the good snow cover on 90% of the ski slopes. This is very much an all year round resort, which all the family can enjoy.
