Investment in Samokov update!

1. Ski slope development at the end of Samokov town - this project is going to have the following- ski slope, lift and winter sports stadium. There is going to be the VIP zone of the town where they will continue with shaping and making the streets.
2. New sports centre on Iskar Boulevard - the biggest Municipality investment so far (15milon BGN). The sports centre will be 3 300m2 in size and will have 1500 seats, restaurant, cafe, VIP lounge, hotel. Completion scheduled for the end of 2007.
3. Iskrovete Project- this will occur around the region of Govedartsi and Malyovitsa and detailed structure plan of Borovets 1100 (the new name of ‘Lower Borovets’ from the Super Borovets Project)- the region of "Banderata", as a part of the whole plan for Samokov - Borovets - Beli Iskar. Plans for building the ‘Samokov - Banderata – Markudjitsite’ gondola are scheduled to be passed shortly. The length of the gondola is going to be 10km.
The company in charge of the project is Rila-Samokov 2004. Everything regarding to the gondola project are ready and two quotes have been obtained from ski lift construction companies for the building of the gondola.
To realize the whole project Samokov-Borovets-Beli Iskar the Municipality will need 1,030 million BGN.
Building the hotels, chalets and the infrastructure around it - 852 million BGN
For the new lifts - 90 mln BGN
New ski slopes - 4,6 mln. BGN
Electricity project - 17 mln. BGN
4. The Samokov Municipality will continue its program to improve the infrastructure of the road systems in the town and the 26 villages around. This will include changing the water mains installation and improving the sewage system. The Samokov Municipality have allocated 10 mln BGN for this.
