The municipal council of Bulgarian city Bansko said it has picked the partnership of local construction company Galchev Engineering Group and Norema Tourist Holding Company to build a skiing complex in Bansko area resort Dobrinishte.
The development is an alternative to the project of another local investor, Dobrinishte Ski, which last year announced plans for a 260 mln levs skiing zone between Dobrinishte and the Bezbog peak in the Pirin mountain.
The two projects have not been co-ordinated and could overlap, warned Bansko mayor Alexander Kravarov.
The 300,000 sq m skiing zone proposed by Dobrinishte Ski will have 40 km of runs and 10,000 beds.
After the 3-year project earned Dobrinishte Ski a First Class Investor certificate from InvestBulgaria, the local investment promotion authority, it turned out the certificate was granted before the project was issued an environment impact assessment.(Dnevnik)
